The lucky tree loses its leaves when touched. How to remedy the situation?

The lucky tree has an elegant posture, is lush and green, and is evergreen all year round. It looks vibrant when you keep it at home. Many flower lovers have found that the lucky trees they keep at home suddenly lose leaves, and the leaves fall off when touched. So how to remedy this situation? Let’s take a look below.

1. Insufficient light or excessive exposure

The lucky tree needs sufficient diffuse light. If it is kept in a dark environment for a long time, its leaves will become fragile and easy to fall off due to lack of nutrients. On the contrary, if the lucky tree is exposed to strong light for a long time, the water will evaporate excessively, causing the leaves to turn yellow and fall off.

Remedial solution: In the case of insufficient light, the lucky tree should be moved to a well-lit location, such as a balcony, window, etc. At the same time, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun and provide appropriate shade.

2. Too much or too little water

The lucky tree has high requirements for water and cannot be too dry or too wet. If water accumulates for a long time, it will cause root rot, which will cause the leaves to fall off; if it is too dry, the leaves will shrink and fall off.

Remedy: First, make sure there are drainage holes at the bottom of the flower pot to avoid water accumulation for a long time. Secondly, adjust the frequency and amount of watering according to the growth stage of the lucky tree and environmental changes. During the growing season, the soil in the pot can be kept moist; in the dry season, the frequency of watering should be appropriately increased. At the same time, avoid overwatering, which can cause root rot.

3. Improper fertilization

The lucky tree needs proper fertilizer . Too much or too little fertilizer may harm the plant. Too much fertilizer can cause burns and cause leaves to drop, while too little fertilizer can cause the plant to lack nutrients and its leaves to drop easily.

Remedy: To avoid over- or under-fertilizing, choose the right fertilizer and follow the instructions on the fertilizer. Generally speaking, during the growing season, compound fertilizer mainly composed of nitrogen fertilizer can be applied, and phosphorus and potassium fertilizers can be added appropriately; during the winter dormancy period, fertilization should be stopped. In addition, if you find that too much or too little fertilizer has caused damage, you can rinse the potting soil with water in time to reduce fertilizer damage.

4. Soil issues

Check whether the soil is compacted. If the pot and soil are not changed for a long time, the soil will become compacted. If the roots cannot breathe smoothly and water and fertilizer cannot be absorbed by the roots, the lucky tree will easily drop leaves or even die.

Remedial solution: Change the pot and soil in time. Cut off water for a few days before changing the pot so that the soil is dry and convenient for removing from the pot. After removing from the pot, check the root system, cut off rotten and dry roots, and soak in carbendazim for disinfection after pruning. Then move it to a loose, fertile, well-drained humus soil, place it in a cool and ventilated location for maintenance, avoid direct sunlight, and wait for the plant to acclimate.

5. Poor ventilation

Many times, the lucky tree loses leaves because it is grown in a closed environment. If this is the case, the lucky tree will also easily lose leaves.

Remedial solution: The lucky tree needs to be transplanted to a well-ventilated place in time. Also, pay attention to controlling the temperature, which needs to be maintained at 26℃. This will make the lucky tree grow more vigorously.
