How to grow aloe vera more vigorously?

Aloe vera is a potted plant that we often grow. It is a perennial evergreen herb with many varieties. It is easy to maintain. Its leaves are relatively thick and look green all year round. So how can we grow aloe vera more vigorously? Let’s take a look below.

1. Soil

The prerequisite for making aloe vera bloom is to let it grow vigorously. Although aloe vera is relatively resistant to barrenness, we must use fertile soil to cultivate it in order to make it grow more vigorously. The soil is very critical when cultivating, because aloe vera likes to grow in loose, breathable and fertile soil. You can use 5 parts of leaf mold, 2 parts of garden soil, 2 parts of river sand, and one part of organic fertilizer , mix them together. The soil created in this way is not only water-retaining and breathable, but also conducive to rooting and has sufficient nutrients.

2. Lighting

Aloe vera likes light, so you can place it in a place with sufficient light. Avoid direct sunlight in the summer. Although aloe vera can tolerate partial shade, an overly dark environment is not conducive to the growth of aloe vera. It will cause the aloe vera to grow too tall, the leaves will become thinner, and the stems will not be strong. With sufficient light, it can fully carry out photosynthesis and produce more nutrients, so that the aloe vera can thrive.

3. Watering

Aloe vera has a lot of water reserves, so it doesn't need to be watered frequently. Generally once a month is enough, and it’s okay even if you forget to water it for a month. It is better to water less than more, otherwise the roots and leaves will easily rot.

4. Fertilization

Aloe vera has a high demand for fertilizer during the growing season, especially nitrogen-based fertilizers . Aloe vera prefers organic fertilizers. Years of experience have told me that organic fertilizers are aloe vera's favorite. I will make kitchen waste into liquid fertilizer to grow flowers. Vegetable leaves, fruit peels, and moldy and spoiled grains can all be made into fertilizers. Put them in a container and fill it with water. After fermenting for more than a month, they can be used. When using, the fertilizer should be diluted with water in a ratio of 1:500. Use this fertilizer to grow aloe vera, and the aloe vera will grow rapidly, and small buds will sprout out in piles. Fertilize once every ten days or so.

5. Pruning

When the aloe vera grows to a certain length but has no side buds, you can cut off the top to promote the germination of small buds at the base. By removing the dominant aloe vera at the top, nutrients will flow back to the base and be redistributed to the buds at the base. In this way, your aloe vera will grow out of the pot.

6. Cutting propagation

Do not waste the cut branches and buds, you can use them for cuttings propagation, first process the branches and buds simply, cut the wound smoothly to facilitate rooting and prevent rot, place them in a cool and ventilated place, and let them air for a week. The wound will naturally dry and heal, and the cuttings propagation in this way will not rot easily. Remember that when the wound is still moist for cuttings propagation, it is easy to be infected by fungi and eventually lead to rot. The medium for cuttings requires permeability to facilitate rooting. General soil and river sand can be used. First wet the medium with water to make it into moist soil. After the cuttings are completed, place them in a ventilated and diffused light place for maintenance. Because it is cultivated in moist soil, there is no need to rush to water it. Just wait until the soil in the pot is dry before watering. Under normal circumstances, it can take root in half a month.
