Sunflower is also called sun flower. Generally speaking, if sunflower is sown in April, the flowering period is from July to August, and the seed maturity period is from August to September.

However, when growing sunflowers, you can take measures to make them bloom all year round, which requires accumulated temperature. Basically, the plant can bloom when it accumulates a certain temperature during its growth process.

Flowering mechanism

When a sunflower blooms, it usually takes 6 to 9 days for a flower disk to open from the tongue-shaped flowers to the entire flower disk. The second to fifth day after the sunflower blooms is its peak flowering period, and there are a lot of flowers blooming during these days.

Sunflower flowers bloom between 4 and 6 in the morning and can be pollinated in the morning of the next day. If not pollinated, the flowers can remain intact for 7 to 10 days.

Flowering form

The flowers of sunflowers are still very eye-catching. The flowers can be single petals or double petals. At first glance, it looks like a big flower disk. There are two kinds of flowers on the sunflower disk, one is ligulate flower and the other is tubular flower.
