Euonymus cultivation method

soil

Euonymus has strong adaptability to soil and can grow in neutral, acidic and calcareous soils.

Watering

Euonymus is relatively drought-resistant, so just keep the soil moist. Don't water it unless it's dry. A slightly dry soil is better than a slightly wet soil. The plants should be watered appropriately during the growing season in spring and summer, which is conducive to the flowering and fruiting of the plants; watering should be reduced in autumn, so that the soil is slightly dry; during the dormant period in winter, water every five to seven days.

Fertilization

Euonymus has a great demand for fertilizer. During the growing season of the plant, cake fertilizer water can be applied once every two weeks, mainly phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. Too much nitrogen fertilizer will cause excessive growth. After autumn, less fertilizer or no fertilizer should be applied. In winter, decomposed cake fertilizer can be added to the soil as base fertilizer.

illumination

Euonymus likes to grow in a sunny place. You can place the plant in a sunny and well-ventilated place. In the hot summer, appropriate shade should be provided to prevent the plants from being exposed to the scorching sun.

prune

When euonymus grows new branches and leaves in spring, they should be cut short appropriately to make the crown dense but not loose; in autumn, after the plant loses its leaves, it should be shaped and pruned to maintain the tree shape.
