Cultivation methods and precautions of beautiful arrowroot

Cultivation methods and precautions of beautiful arrowroot

1. Sunlight

The beautiful arrowroot prefers a relatively cool environment and is afraid of direct sunlight, but it cannot be placed in a place that is too dark or lacks light. Generally, it can be placed in a place indoors where it can see light.

Do not expose it to direct sunlight, as this will cause the leaves to become dull and yellow.

2. Temperature

The beautiful arrowroot likes a warm environment, and the ambient temperature is best kept at 18~25℃. The temperature in summer should not exceed 32℃, and the temperature in winter should not be lower than 10℃, otherwise the plant may be damaged.

3. Water

The beautiful arrowroot likes water but is afraid of drought. It can be watered when the soil surface is slightly dry. It is best to water frequently to keep the pot moist, but do not water too much to prevent water accumulation in the pot and cause root rot of the plant.

When the temperature is high in summer, you can water the plant more frequently and clean the leaves to help the arrowroot survive the summer heat. The frequency of watering should be controlled around October to help the plants withstand severe cold.

It likes a humid environment. In addition to normal watering, you should also sprinkle water on its leaves and the surrounding environment frequently. This will not only cool it down but also keep the air around it relatively humid.

4. Nutrients

The growth of the beautiful arrowroot does not require much fertilizer, and mainly requires nitrogen fertilizer. It is best to apply fertilizer in small amounts and multiple times, and do not apply too much fertilizer at one time. If you want to make the leaves more shiny, you can apply some phosphorus fertilizer.

It responds very strongly to fertilizer, so be sure not to apply excessive amounts of fertilizer that may cause leaf burn.

5. Pest control

There are not many insect pests on the beautiful arrowroot. Just pay more attention to whether there are red spider mites on the leaves and scale insects on the petioles. When insect pests occur, you can spray pesticides such as Lecithin to kill the insects. You can also spray special pesticides to prevent insect pests at other times.

6. Other matters needing attention

The beautiful arrowroot needs a ventilated growing environment. It should not be too dense and a breeze is best. You need to take good care of the arrowroot and trim off the yellow leaves and withered flowers in time.
