Epiphyllum

The first thing Huahua introduced was the famous Epiphyllum. Epiphyllums usually bloom around 10 o'clock in the evening and only last for a few hours. They are truly worthy of being called short-lived flowers!

How to grow Epiphyllum?

1. Epiphyllum prefers partial shade, so it is best not to place it in direct sunlight. If it is exposed to direct sunlight for a long time, it may die.

2. If you want the Epiphyllum to bloom more, you have to fertilize it. Generally, decomposed rice water, fish water, etc. can be used for Epiphyllum. Before flowering, you can also spray some 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution to make Epiphyllum bloom more.

3. If you want the Epiphyllum to bloom during the day, you can also cover the entire Epiphyllum with a black opaque plastic bag during the day. After removing it at night, use ultraviolet light to illuminate the Epiphyllum. This will change the flowering time of the Epiphyllum and make it bloom during the day.

Tuberose

Tuberose also blooms at night and has a super strong scent. If you have tuberose at home, it is best to place it in a ventilated balcony or yard at night, otherwise it will be harmful to people with poor respiratory tract.

How to grow tuberose?

1. Tuberose loves light. The more sunlight it gets, the more flowers it will bloom and the more fragrant they will be. So if you have the conditions at home, you must place it on the south balcony or south windowsill for maintenance. Of course it would be even better if you have a yard!

2. Tuberose is particularly fond of fertilizer. If you want to grow it well, apply nitrogen fertilizer once every 10-15 days, and apply phosphorus and potassium fertilizers 2-4 times before flowering. This will ensure that the tuberose continues to bloom.

3. Tuberose likes loose, breathable, slightly acidic soil. Generally, peat soil, river sand and fertilizer are mixed in a ratio of 3:2:1 to make nutrient soil. You can also put a thick layer of broken bricks at the bottom of the pot to achieve drainage and ventilation.

Mirabilis jalapa

Mirabilis jalapa also blooms in the evening. Because its seeds are black, it is also called landmine flower in some places. Its flowers are small and numerous, and each time they bloom, they are purple, very beautiful!

How to grow Mirabilis jalapa?

1. It is very simple to care for Mirabilis jalapa and it can grow in any soil environment, but a slightly more fertile soil will allow it to bloom more. You can use leaf mold mixed with perlite as nutrient soil.

2. Mirabilis jalapa likes a humid environment and is afraid of waterlogging. In spring and autumn, it is enough to water it once every 2-3 days. In the evening on a clear day, you can use a spray bottle to spray some water on the leaves.

3. After the Mirabilis jalapa blooms, it will produce small black seeds. Collect the small seeds and plant them in a flowerpot to turn them into a new small potted plant.

Evening Primrose

When you hear the name of evening primrose, you know that it blooms at night specifically for the moon to see, so it is called this name. It usually blooms in the evening, and the small flowers bloom one by one, which looks very beautiful from a distance!

How to grow evening primrose?

1. Evening primrose likes plenty of light and must be placed on the south balcony or south windowsill so that the plant can grow more and more vigorously. If you have a yard, it is best to grow it there.

2. Evening primrose is relatively drought-resistant, so water it in time when you see the surface of the soil in the pot is dry.

3. During the growth period of evening primrose, fertilize it about 1-2 times a month. Use fermented bean cake fertilizer, rapeseed cake fertilizer, etc., then add water and water it.

That’s all Huahua is going to introduce today.
