The difference between mountain peach and peach blossom

The difference between mountain peach and peach blossom

1. Appearance

(1) Leaf shape: The leaves of mountain peach are generally ovate-lanceolate, 5 to 13 cm long and about 1.5 to 4 cm wide; while the leaves of peach blossom are elliptical-lanceolate. This difference is not easy to see if you don't look carefully.

(2) Flower diameter: The flowers of Prunus armeniaca are solitary, with a diameter of about two to three centimeters. The diameter of peach blossoms is relatively longer, ranging from 2.5 to 3.5 centimeters. In addition, the colors of the flowers of the two are also different. The flowers of the former are generally pink in color. The latter has more diverse colors including deep red, crimson, pure white, etc., and there are also flowers with mixed colors. In comparison, the colors of peach blossoms are more beautiful and colorful. The color of the flowers has a lot to do with the variety of peach blossom.

2. Fruiting period

There is not much difference in the flowering period of the two, but there is a difference in the fruiting period. The fruiting period of wild peach is generally from July to August, while the fruiting period of peach blossom is concentrated from June to September depending on the specific variety. The reason for this is that this aspect is closely related to the many varieties of peach blossoms.

3. Variants

There are many varieties of peach blossoms: nectarine, flat peach, longevity peach, pink peach and so on. Some of them are flower peaches, and some are fruit peaches. Different varieties have different colors and slightly different habits.

4. Distribution area

The mountain peach is mainly distributed in Shandong, Shanxi, Gansu, Sichuan and other provinces in my country. Peach blossoms are not only widely distributed throughout our country, but have also spread abroad.
