Goldfish Chlorophytum breeding methods and precautions

Goldfish Chlorophytum breeding methods and precautions

1. Temperature

Chlorophytum comosum is a tropical herbaceous vine. It has relatively high temperature requirements during its growth process and needs a growth environment of 10-28℃. Too low temperature will cause frost damage.

2. Soil

The roots of the goldfish plant are fleshy roots, and the potting soil for maintenance needs to be loose, fertile, well-drained acidic loam. For home maintenance, you can use leaf mold or peat, garden soil, river sand or perlite, mixed in a ratio of 4:3:2; you can also use three parts peat and one part perlite to mix.

3. Lighting

The goldfish spider plant has special requirements for light during the breeding process. In summer and autumn, it should be avoided from direct sunlight, and it should be shaded moderately or placed in a place with bright scattered light. In winter, make sure there is sufficient light to facilitate its flowering.

4. Fertilizer

The goldfish plant needs sufficient fertilizer during its growth process. When potting or changing the soil, you can mix some fully decomposed organic fertilizer or slow-release vegan compound fertilizer into the soil. During the growing season, which is mainly in spring and autumn, top dressing can be done every half a month, using dilute liquid fertilizer.

5. Notes

During the maintenance process, timely pruning is required to promote side branches and make the plant shape more complete. As long as you place it in a well-ventilated and well-lit environment, there will rarely be diseases and insect pests. If ventilation is improper and humidity is low, scale insects may sometimes cause damage. Once discovered, you can wipe them off in time with a black toothbrush.
