How to grow Rieger Begonia

1. Soil

To cultivate Reie Begonia, you need to use soil with good drainage. When cultivating it at home, you can mix coconut coir, vermiculite, etc. as its culture soil. You can also mix peat soil and perlite in a ratio of 4:1 to prepare its culture soil.

2. Temperature

The optimum growth temperature for Rieger Begonia is 18-22℃. It is not resistant to high temperatures and the temperature cannot exceed 28℃, so it is best to place it indoors in an air-conditioned room in summer. It is also not resistant to low temperatures, and the temperature cannot be lower than 15℃, so it is best to place it in a heated room indoors in winter.

3. Lighting

It prefers semi-shaded growing conditions. In the summer, you need to use a sunshade to block the sun from strong sunlight. It blooms in winter, so you need to put it in a place with better lighting conditions, such as a balcony, to help it bloom.

4. Fertilization

It needs regular fertilization. When fertilizing young seedlings, nitrogen fertilizer should be used mainly, which will allow them to grow branches and leaves faster. Before flowering, you need to increase the application of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers, so that the flowers can be brighter and more colorful.
