How often does a cactus bloom?

1. How often does it bloom?

Few people have probably seen it bloom, but from a natural perspective, it is fully capable of blooming. However, it is not an ordinary plant, and its flowering time is uncertain. It can usually only bloom if it is properly maintained. It has a long flowering cycle. If it is planted well, it may bloom in three to five years, but it may also take decades to bloom. The flowering season is in spring. The flowers it blooms are very beautiful. The flowers are located on the areoles of the plant. The flowers are large in shape and the colors are very diverse and bright, so every time it blooms, it is particularly eye-catching.

2. Proper maintenance promotes flowering

1. Fertilization

Before planting, you can add a little base fertilizer to the prepared soil, and then apply top dressing later. It is divided into two periods. One is to apply it when the sprout of the seed piece grows to 6 cm, which can play a role in strengthening the seedlings; the other time is after harvesting. In order to allow it to continue to germinate, it is necessary to apply appropriate top dressing, but do not apply fertilizer when it is in a dormant period.

2. Watering

You don't need to water it when you first plant it. You can add water after it takes root. Make sure to water it sufficiently each time. However, it is not suitable to water too much at normal times to prevent water accumulation in the soil.

3. Weeding

Pay attention to whether there is grass in the potting soil. If there is, pull it out in time to prevent them from continuing to consume nutrients. At the same time, weeding can also loosen the soil to improve soil permeability.

4. Soil cultivation

During its growth process, the weight of the above-ground part continues to increase. At this time, soil should be added immediately so that it will not fall over easily.
