The difference between cherry tomatoes and tomatoes

The difference between cherry tomatoes and tomatoes

1. Difference in appearance

The roots of cherry tomatoes are well developed, with many lateral roots, most of which are distributed in the soil layer 30 cm below the surface. The stems and vines will support the top of the plant by themselves, and the whole plant is about 2 meters high.

The tomato has glandular hairs all over its body, its stems are often prone to lodging, it has a strong odor, and is relatively short, about 0.6-2 meters tall.

2. The difference between fruits

Cherry tomatoes are brightly colored fruits, generally bright red in color, but also available in yellow, red, green and other colors. Each fruit weighs about 10-30 grams. The fruit is mainly spherical in shape, and the seeds are much smaller than those of tomatoes and are heart-shaped.

The tomato fruit is oblate or nearly spherical, orange or bright red in color, with a smooth surface. It is generally much larger than the former, about several times the size of the former.
