How to grow aloe vera

How to grow aloe vera

1. Soil

Aloe vera is a plant that likes heat and fears cold, so it should be placed in a relatively warm environment during maintenance. Generally speaking, it will show signs of freezing below 0 degrees in winter, will stop growing below 10 degrees, and will grow very rapidly above 20 degrees.

When caring for aloe vera, you should choose loose and well-drained sandy soil. We can mix garden soil with a certain proportion of sand or medium-sized coal slag from honeycomb briquettes to facilitate drainage.

2. Lighting

Aloe vera likes sunlight during the maintenance process and needs to be cultivated in full light. If the maintenance environment does not have enough light, it will grow smaller and weaker.

3. Humidity

If the humidity is too high, black spots may appear on the leaves. At this time, we can spray them with fungicides such as methyl thiophanate, and there will be relatively fewer insect pests.

4. Fertilizer

Aloe vera does not require much fertilizer, but during the growing season, you can mix a certain amount of decomposed organic fertilizer, such as chicken manure, cake fertilizer, etc., into the soil by repotting. Generally speaking, as long as the aloe vera is placed in direct sunlight, warmth, moderate drought, and a good water permeable environment, it will grow better. We have to master a basic principle: more sunlight, dry rather than wet, a warm environment, and sufficient fertilizer, and the aloe vera will grow well.
