What is the difference between cauliflower and green broccoli?

1. Leaf Difference

The leaves of cauliflower are palmate compound leaves with 3 to 7 leaflets. The leaflets are obovate-elliptical, oblanceolate or rhombus-shaped. The tips of the leaves gradually become sharp, or are obtuse or rounded. The base of the leaves is wedge-shaped. The leaves are almost glabrous on both sides and have fine serrations on the edges.

The leaves of broccoli are dark blue-green in color with a thick wax layer. The leaf shapes are broad-leafed and long-leafed, and the petioles are long and narrow.

2. Flower Differences

The cauliflower has a raceme inflorescence that is 15 to 30 cm long, with a few to many flowers, and the petals are white with faint hints of light yellow or lavender.

When the broccoli plant grows more than 20 leaves, it will grow flower stalks, which will gather tightly at the top of the plant to form a ball-shaped cluster of flower buds, which are green in color.
