1. Difference of blades

The leaves of Michelia are leathery, narrowly elliptical or obovate-elliptical, about 4-10cm long and about 1.8-4cm wide. The tip is somewhat blunt and short-pointed, the base is wedge-shaped or broadly wedge-shaped, and has a certain luster on it. The petiole is about 2-4 mm long.

The leaves of white jasmine are thin and leathery, and are elongated oval or lanceolate oval, about 10-27cm long and 4-9.5cm in diameter. The base is wedge-shaped, the upper surface is hairless, and the petiole is about 1.5-2cm long.

2. The difference between flowers

The flowers of Michelia are upright, light yellow in color, and the edges of the flowers sometimes turn red or purple. The flower is about 12-20mm long, 6-11mm in diameter, and the perianth is oblong.

The flowers of the white jasmine are white and very fragrant. The flowering period is between April and September, and it usually blooms in midsummer.
