How to identify Jinping Schefflera

1. Appearance

Jinping Schefflera is a shrub, about 4-5 meters tall. The twigs are relatively sturdy, cylindrical, with yellow lenticels, which are oblong or elliptical and hairless.

2. Blades

Jinping Schefflera has 6 leaflets, which are ovate-oblong or elliptical, about 30 cm long and 11 cm wide, with a caudate-acuminate tip and a rounded base. They are glabrous on the upper side and have sparse, star-shaped, short hairs on the lower side. Its petiole is relatively thick, about 40 cm long, and the petiolules are 1.5-6 cm.

3. Flowers

The Jinping Schefflera has a panicle inflorescence that grows at the top and is about 28 cm long. The umbel has about 10-20 flowers, the flowers are purple-red, the bracts are oblong, there are 5 petals, and the flower buds are nearly spherical.
