Can Lithops survive after blooming?

Can Lithops survive after blooming?

1. Flowering time

Generally speaking, if it is propagated by sowing, it will not bloom until the second or third year. After that, it blooms every year.

2. Can it survive after flowering?

Lithops has a very long lifespan. If well cared for, it can live for many years and bloom every year. After blooming once, it will not die. Although some skin shedding may occur, the insect will not die.

3. How to get seeds after flowering

Seeding is its main mode of reproduction. So, if you want to propagate in this way, you will need seeds. Through artificial pollination, we can get seeds ourselves instead of buying them. One of its flowers can bloom for about six days. On the third day, its pollen will be mature, and artificial pollination can be carried out at this time. You can buy a special tool called a pollination pen, dip it in the pollen of one flower, and then apply it to the stigma of a flower on another plant.

If the two plants do not bloom at the same time, you can collect them and put them in the refrigerator and wait for the second flower to bloom. If pollination is successful, its petals will become very brightly colored and seed pods will form inside the flower soon after. When it matures, take the seeds out of it.
