Bougainvillea takes root after soaking in water for a few days, water cutting method illustrated

1. How many days does it take to take root?

It takes at least a month for Bougainvillea to take root after being soaked in water, and it is very common for it to take root in about 45 days. During the rooting period, the water should be changed regularly, generally every 3-5 days. When you first start soaking the plants in water, you can add some rooting powder to the water. Before it takes root, it will usually grow small white dots, which means it is about to take root. Just be patient and wait.

2. Water cutting method

1. Branch selection: It is best to use one-year-old woody branches for water cuttings. Try not to use roots that are too old, as the rooting speed will be slowed down. The leaves at the bottom of the branches should be removed first to prevent them from rotting after being soaked in water.

2. Container: Try to use a transparent container. If it is not transparent, you will not be able to see the rooting of the branches. Add 2/3 of pure water and sprinkle some rooting powder in it. If the branches rot during the rooting period, they must be pruned and re-inserted in water.

3. Water insertion: Insert the cut branches into a bottle and soak them in water, leaving the upper leaves exposed above the water surface. Place it in an environment with good air circulation and change the water in time during the rooting period.
