Orchid Varieties

1. Terrestrial orchid

Terrestrial orchids are what we usually grow at home. They are relatively common and can be divided into the following categories:

1. Spring orchid: It is one of the varieties with the longest cultivation history in my country. It blooms in February and March, is often fragrant, and has great color variations. Songmei, Wanzi, Laoshiyuan and Wangzi are all its categories.

2. Cymbidium: It is widely distributed, has thick and long roots, and its flowers are mostly yellow-green or emerald green. Da Yipin, Xianlv, Duanhuimei and others are all its varieties.

3. Jianlan: Also known as four-season orchid, it has strong and upright stems, emerald green leaves, numerous flowers, and a very strong fragrance. Flowers can be seen from May to December. It contains many traditional famous products, which are generally divided into two categories: colored core and plain core.

4. Mo Lan: Also known as the New Year's Orchid, the leaves are dark green and shiny. The flowers come in a variety of colors and bloom from January to March.

5. Cymbidium: The flowers are relatively small and longer, and the flowering period is from October to December.

2. Epiphytic Orchid

This type of plant is a semi-parasitic plant that grows dependent on other plants. It is also called tropical orchid, and is commonly called foreign orchid. Phalaenopsis, Dendrobium, Oncidium, etc. belong to this category.

3. Saprophytic orchid

This type grows on the ground, but has no green leaves. The flower stalks are relatively upright and purple-red in color. The flowering period is from June to August.
