How to grow Buddha's palm

How to grow Buddha's palm

1. Maintenance methods

1. Temperature: Buddha's palm likes warmth, and 18 to 22 degrees is most suitable for its growth. It cannot tolerate extreme heat, so it needs to be regulated and cooled in hot and stuffy environments. In addition, it is not cold-resistant. Given its habit, it is best kept indoors in winter, and the temperature should not be lower than ten degrees.

2. Light: Buddha's palm is sensitive to sunlight and does not like strong light. Semi-shade is most suitable for it. Although it does not like strong light, it cannot tolerate no sunlight at all. When there is strong light, it needs to be placed in a shaded place. When the sunlight is not strong, there is no need to cover it. Generally speaking, there is no need for shade from late autumn to winter.

3. Watering: It is very drought-resistant, but it is afraid of waterlogging. Therefore, it is necessary to add an appropriate amount of water to keep the substrate in a semi-wet state. In winter, the substrate needs to be kept slightly dry, especially when the temperature is not suitable.

4. Fertilization: Fertilize once every two weeks. What you need to pay attention to is the type of nutrients, and don't just focus on nitrogen fertilizer.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Reproduction: A common method is cutting. September to October is more suitable. Sand can be used as the substrate and needs to be moistened before insertion. After cutting the cuttings, wait until the wound is dry before inserting them. After cuttings, the temperature should be around 20 degrees. After a month, it will probably take root. When the new roots grow to two or three centimeters long, they can be potted.

2. Repotting: Try to change the substrate every year, otherwise it will cause some harm after it becomes hardened. In addition to replacing new soil, some dry leaves and roots also need to be repaired. After repotting, keep it in a cool place away from strong light.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Disease: The most common disease is "wilt disease", which is prone to occur in high temperature and high humidity conditions, and can even threaten the health of the entire plant and cause the entire plant to die. It can be controlled by drugs such as carbendazim.

2. Pests: The probability of pests appearing is not high. When they appear, spray pesticides immediately and it is best to disinfect the substrate.

IV. Other issues

1. Toxicity: It is non-toxic and you can rest assured.

2. Can it be kept at home? There are many benefits to keeping it at home. Not only can it be used for viewing and decoration, it can also purify and absorb some harmful substances.
