Cultivation methods and precautions of Platycladus orientalis

1. Matrix selection

Platycladus orientalis has low requirements for soil and can grow well in any type of soil. However, it grows better in soil with high fertility, strong air permeability and good drainage. It can be planted by mixing rotten leaf soil and pebbles in a ratio of one to two.

2. Temperature Management

15℃-25℃ is the best temperature for the growth of Platycladus orientalis leaves. The climate is cool in autumn and the Platycladus orientalis leaves grow rapidly. The maximum temperature in summer should not exceed 38℃. If the temperature is too high, it will easily enter a dormant period, and it will easily freeze to death when the temperature is below zero in winter.

3. Water Management

To promote the growth of the roots of Platycladus orientalis leaves, water it appropriately when it is a seedling. After entering the growth period, its water demand increases, so the frequency and amount of watering should be increased, and the soil should be moist. After entering summer, the weather is hot and dry, so the amount of water should be increased appropriately.

4. Nutrient Management

Before planting, Platycladus orientalis leaves need to be fertilized with base fertilizer, mainly organic fertilizer, such as animal manure, bean dregs, etc. Ammonium sulfate can be applied when the plant enters the growth phase, about three times a year, and about five kilograms can be applied per acre of land.
