Four common plants in deserts

Four common plants in deserts

1. Cactus

Cactus is a desert plant. It is very resistant to drought and heat and has strong vitality. However, if it is artificially maintained, it is recommended to provide it with a well-lit and warm environment. It is best to use loose, breathable, water-permeable and fertile soil for cultivation. In such a soil environment, the cactus will grow more vigorously and can bloom as scheduled.

2. Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is also a desert plant. Its origin is in the arid regions of Africa. It is now cultivated in many areas and is quite common. Aloe vera has thick leaves that contain a lot of water and are drought-resistant. Even if it is artificially maintained, do not water it frequently, otherwise the roots will easily rot, which is not conducive to its growth. Note that although aloe vera likes light, if it is grown in a potted plant, do not expose it to strong sunlight, otherwise it will easily get sunburned and its growth will be hindered.

3. Populus euphratica

Populus euphratica has strong growth ability and is suitable for growing in arid areas. It is quite common in Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang, Gansu and other regions of my country. It is resistant to heat and wind, and is suitable for cultivation in the desert. It is a precious forest resource unique to desert areas. Its primary function is to prevent wind and sand, create a suitable oasis climate and form fertile soil. It has guarded the border desert for many years and is hailed as the guardian of the desert.

4. Red Willow

Red willow is suitable for growing in deserts. It has strong root germination ability and is resistant to sand burial. It is one of the plants widely distributed in China's desert areas. It is not only an excellent windbreak and sand-fixing plant, but also a soil and water conservation tree species and a greening and afforestation tree species for saline-alkali land. Distributed in western Tibet, Xinjiang, Qinghai, Inner Mongolia, Gansu and other regions.
