How to Make Your Own Gardenia Fertilizer

How to Make Your Own Gardenia Fertilizer

Preparation materials for making gardenia fertilizer

Fruit leather: any fruit will do

Rice washing water: After washing the rice, put the water into a bottle and set aside.

Tomatoes: Rotten tomatoes will do.

Baking soda, beer, sesame paste residue, cake fertilizer, etc.

Preparation method

Fruit peel flower fertilizer

All kinds of fruit peels can be used. After peeling the fruits, put them in a bottle, seal and ferment. After 5 to 10 days, pour out the liquid in the bottle and water the flowers. Apply thin fertilizer frequently once every 10 days to make the leaves green and lush.

Rice water and rotten tomatoes

Put rice water and rotten tomatoes into the same container, ferment them, and then use them to water the flowers. It does not require excessive processing to make it grow lush and green.

Baking soda solution

Stop fertilizing gardenias when they are in bloom, but sometimes the flowers remain in bud for a long time without blooming. At this time, you can water the flowers with a 1/10,000 concentration of baking soda solution. It will promote flowering. Baking soda is not a fertilizer and will not have any effect on the growth of plants.

beer

Growing flowers with beer will produce unexpected effects. Beer contains carbon dioxide, which is an indispensable substance for plant metabolism. The sugar, protein, amino acids, phosphates and other nutrients contained in beer are needed for the growth of gardenia. Let’s take a look at the specific usage of beer:

Watering flowers: A large amount of beer can make the plants grow vigorously and help them absorb nutrients. However, beer and water should be mixed in a ratio of 50:1 before use.

Spray leaves: Mix water and beer in a ratio of 1:10, and spray the leaves to achieve the effect of foliar fertilization.

Wipe the leaves: Dip a soft cloth in beer and gently wipe the leaves. This can speed up the absorption of nutrients by the leaves, making the leaves greener and more lustrous.

Flower arrangement: When arranging flowers in a bottle, add 1/10 of beer to the water to make the flowers more colorful and extend the viewing time of the flowers.

Retting cake fertilizer

This is the most common base fertilizer for flowers and can be made at home. The residue after pressing oil from peanuts, sesame seeds and soybeans is called sesame paste residue. They are rich in nutrients and are good raw materials for fermenting high-efficiency organic fertilizers. The specific steps are:

Crush the sesame paste residue or soybean meal cake and put it into a container, add 10 times the amount of water, stir evenly and cover the lid tightly. It will ferment after half a month. When using, dilute it 20 to 50 times according to the dosage, stir it to make an organic liquid, which can be used directly to water flowers.
