How to breed Thousand Buddha Hands

How to breed Thousand Buddha Hands

Seed propagation

Thousand Buddha's Hand seeds can be propagated by sowing during the growing season (preferably in autumn, followed by spring). The sowing temperature is generally controlled at 18-23 degrees. The sowing soil can be made of one part each of peat + vermiculite + perlite. After soaking it with insecticide and sterilization water, sow the seeds flatly on the soil surface and cover it with film (ventilate for 2 hours a day). It usually germinates in about a week. After the germination is neat, remove the film and increase the light.

Propagation by division

Thousand Buddha's Hand can be propagated by division. During the growing season, small plants around the plant (or the upper branches of the overgrown plants) can be cut off with a sharp knife, dried for a week, and then planted in moist soil. Normal watering can be done after a week.

Cutting propagation

Thousand Buddha's Hand can be propagated by cuttings throughout the year, with the best results in spring and autumn. Cut the top branches, 5 to 7 cm long, dry them slightly and insert them into the sand bed. They will take root 3 to 4 weeks after insertion. You can also use the mature leaves in the middle and lower parts for cuttings, which will take root in about 3 weeks, and then plant them in pots after the young plants grow out.

Or you can use leaf cuttings for propagation. Generally, during the growing season, you can gently break off the mature leaves at the bottom of the plant and place them flat on moist soil. They will generally take root in about 2 weeks. After taking root, just keep the soil moist.
