Maintenance methods of potted apricot flowers

Selection of apricot flower varieties

If you want to plant them in pots, the editor has several varieties of apricot flowers to recommend ~ such as Lanzhou Dajie Apricot, Baimei Apricot, Chuanzhihong, Shuijing Apricot, Jinshou Apricot, etc. The characteristics of these apricot flowers are that they are easier to form flower buds, and have strong self-fertility abilities, large fruits, early maturity, bright colors, and high ornamental value.

Selection of pollinating species

It is best to graft each apricot tree with apricot varieties that have the same, similar or equivalent flowering period for pollination, with a ratio of 4:1, which can improve its ornamental value.

Potting soil preparation

The potting soil must be nutritionally complete, rich in sufficient organic matter and various nutrients necessary for the growth of apricot trees.

Recipe Ratio

55% high-quality loose garden soil or leaf mold, 20% furnace ash, 3.5% wood ash or sawdust. 15% fermented manure and 5% fine river sand. Potassium dihydrogen phosphate 0.2%, superphosphate or bone meal 1%. Trace element fertilizer 0.1%, urea 0.2%.

Apricot tree potting

The time should be chosen during the dormant period of the apricot tree. Then dig out the dormant apricot tree, remove the soil around the roots, and slightly trim the roots and branches before directly potting it. After potting, water it thoroughly. If conditions permit, place the potted plant in a greenhouse or arch shed for maintenance, which can promote new root growth.

Apricot tree flower and fruit care

Artificial pollination

Although most apricot flowers can self-pollinate, some must be artificially pollinated to increase yield. If you want to taste them, you can do artificial pollination!

Flower and fruit thinning

For domestic potted plants, remove excessive and dense flowers after flowering, and remove underdeveloped, deformed fruits and fruits that are inappropriately positioned after fruiting.

Stickers

In order to improve the viewing effect and value, you can paste auspicious words such as "happiness", "longevity", "blessing", "auspicious", etc., which will make people like it more when they see it.

Foliar Fertilizer

Spray 0.3% urea plus 0.2% borax during the flowering period.

After the flowers fade, spray 0.2% urea plus 0.1% potassium dihydrogen phosphate.

From the fruit expansion period to the coloring period, spray 0.1% potassium dihydrogen phosphate + 0.2% photosynthetic micro-fertilizer once every 15 days.

top dressing

During the growing season, 0.5% liquid fertilizer can be applied to potted apricots every 7 to 10 days. Fertilizers you can choose are: animal manure + cake water + potassium dihydrogen phosphate. After mixing, add water and ferment. For potted apricots that produce more fruits, apply phosphorus and potassium fertilizers during the flower bud differentiation period, which is from early June to early August, and before and after fruit picking.

Growth inhibitors

For fast-growing potted apricots, spray 200 times diluted paclobutrazol during the vigorous growth period of new shoots. This growth inhibitor can make apricot trees dwarf and strong and promote the differentiation and formation of flower buds.

Watering the apricot blossoms

Generally speaking, you can water the plants every 7 to 10 days in winter and spring, every 1 to 2 days in summer, and once a day if necessary. Water thoroughly every day on sunny days to keep the soil in the pot moist.
