How to deal with Anemone bulbs

Anemone bulb processing steps

Soaking cleaning

The silver anemone is in a shriveled state when it is not sown during the Mid-Autumn Festival. Before sowing, the bulbs must be soaked for 1 to 2 days to allow the bulbs to expand from a shriveled state. After soaking, the bulbs must also be cleaned to clear the soil on the surface.

Selecting bulbs

After soaking, the bulbs of Anemone will become plump and hard, and will have a conical shape. Some parts will be convex and gray-black. We should eliminate the bulbs that are diseased or have wounds. We usually use bulbs with a circumference of about 10cm for planting production.

Sterilization and packaging

After we have screened the healthy bulbs, we need to soak the selected bulbs in the medicine solution for about half an hour. After disinfection, the moisture will be removed. It is best to use perlite as the matrix for packaging the bulbs. When packaging, the bulbs should not be placed in more than 5 layers in each box.

Low temperature vernalization and germination

To promote rooting and germination of Anemone bulbs, they must first be treated with low temperatures. The temperature of the low temperature treatment should be kept at around 1 to 3 degrees Celsius, and the low temperature treatment time should be about one month. After the bulbs are taken out of the cold storage after low-temperature treatment, they are placed at about 20 degrees Celsius for germination. They will sprout in 10 days.
