How to care for rubber trees in winter

How to care for rubber trees in winter

Farming methods

In winter, the first thing to pay attention to is the temperature. The temperature in winter is very low, so you must pay attention to maintaining a high temperature, and the lowest temperature should not be lower than 5℃.

As for light, it is generally necessary to ensure that the plant is exposed to direct sunlight every day. Rubber trees like light, so be sure not to water them in direct sunlight. In winter, it is usually placed in a well-lit place indoors.

When watering, be sure to keep the soil dry, because the rubber tree grows slowly in winter and does not require a lot of water. The same is true for fertilization. At this time, you should apply fertilizer in moderation, but you can sprinkle some wood ash.

Precautions

When growing rubber trees in winter, pay attention to maintaining ventilation, but prevent cold winds. If the rubber tree is accidentally exposed to cold winds, it can easily cause it to lose leaves or even die.

You also need to pay attention to humidity in winter, because the rubber tree grows very slowly at this time and consumes less water. You should not water it too much, and the branches, leaves, potting soil and air should not be too humid, so as to avoid blackening of leaves and root rot, which may lead to its death.

In fact, there is another point to note. After the temperature drops, don't rush to put it indoors. Instead, leave it indoors to endure the low temperature for a period of time and pay attention to frost prevention.
