What to do if the leaves of African jasmine wilt and the new branches turn yellow

African jasmine is native to southern my country and Southeast Asian countries. It likes warm, sunny, humid and ventilated environment. It is a very popular indoor foliage plant.

Causes of yellowing leaves

Usually, the sudden yellowing of African jasmine leaves can be roughly divided into three situations. One is that the plant lacks potassium. At this time, the leaves of African jasmine will turn yellow. The second is that the position of the flowerpot is unreasonable, resulting in the plant itself lacking sunlight, which will cause the leaves to lose their green color and turn yellow. The last situation is inappropriate temperature or insufficient ventilation and water accumulation, which can also cause the above situation to occur in African jasmine.

How to deal with it

We identify the causes of the problem and look for solutions.

If the yellowing of leaves is caused by potassium deficiency, you can choose to add compound fertilizer or potassium nitrate. Apply fertilizer about once every ten days and twice, and the yellowing leaves will improve.

African jasmine likes sunlight. If the location where the flowerpot is placed is too dark, the plant itself will not enjoy sufficient sunlight, which will also cause the leaves to turn yellow. In this case, we should adjust the location of the flowerpot in time to allow the plant to receive sufficient light.

If you find that the leaves of African jasmine are turning yellow, this is most likely caused by excessive water accumulation. The solution is to pay attention to the intensity of watering, control the amount of water, open windows for ventilation frequently, and change the soil when necessary. In addition, you should also pay attention to maintaining the indoor temperature. Keep the temperature above 10 degrees Celsius during the winter. In order to prevent the leaves from turning yellow, adding a small amount of ferrous sulfate when fertilizing during the growing season of the plant is also a good method.
