Is the Jade Leaf poisonous?

Is it poisonous?

The Jade Plant is the Purslane tree, a plant of the Portulacaceae family. As for the question of whether the Jade Plant is poisonous, from a scientific point of view, the Jade Plant is poisonous. However, many plants, such as the weeping angel, tiger thorn bush, daffodils, etc., are poisonous, but people still grow them and don’t care whether they are poisonous or not.

But from the perspective of common sense, the Jade Plant is not poisonous. The purslane tree looks very similar to the wild vegetable purslane we eat, except that the purslane is a fleshy shrub. We all know that purslane is edible and not poisonous, so the Jade Leaf will not be much worse.

The toxicity of Jade Plant will only cause harm to humans if it is ingested, so as long as you really like growing flowers and not for other purposes, you don’t need to worry about whether Jade Plant is poisonous or not.

Can it be kept indoors?

Of course you can, but there are a few things to note.

Jade plant needs sunlight to grow. Except for the summer, it should be placed in a sunny place. The best state is that the leaves are emerald green with a blush. When the temperature is suitable, try to place the plant in a ventilated place near the window for maintenance.

In addition, you should pay attention to watering. Reduce watering when the environment is humid, do not water on cloudy days, and reduce watering when the indoor air is not circulating. Ventilate frequently to avoid a stuffy environment.

The most important point is to ensure that the environment around the potted plants is clean. During the maintenance process, there may be natural leaf fall. Clean up the dead leaves in time to avoid the breeding of bacteria and disease.
