How to care for roses during their flowering period

sunshine

Roses need sufficient light during their flowering period, and the amount of light they receive during the day must also be sufficient. Potted roses need to be placed in a place with good air circulation and daily sunlight for at least half a day. And this is a necessary condition for roses to bloom into clusters of flowers. Once the sun-loving rose is placed in a hidden environment, the amount of flowering will be greatly reduced.

prune

In fact, while meeting the lighting conditions, the branches must be pruned in time, otherwise some flower buds growing inside will not receive sunlight and the rose will not be able to grow well. During the flowering period of roses, which starts in May, cut off half or most of the branches at the flowering point after each flower blooms, so that new buds will grow. It also helps prevent root nutrients from being transported to useless branches.

Fertilization

During the flowering period of roses, it is necessary to ensure the supply of nutrients. For new potted plants, fertilizers can be applied directly into the pots. If it is an old potted plant, the best way at this time is to change the pot and soil. The time is to add fertilizer every ten days or so to deliver a steady supply of nutrients to the above-ground stems and leaves, so that the roses can bloom more vigorously.

temperature

Although roses love sunlight, they will enter a semi-dormant state once the temperature reaches above 23 degrees Celsius in summer. Therefore, if you want roses to bloom for a long time, you need to provide some light shading during the high temperature season.
