What to do with carnations after they fade

What to do with carnations after they fade

How to deal with it

After the carnation flowers wither, all the withered flowers should be picked off in time, and they should be maintained according to the maintenance methods during the flowering period. If properly maintained, they will be forced to bloom again.

If the carnation is blooming for the first time, all the flower stalks should be cut off after the flowers wither, leaving two buds on each branch.

Post-flowering care

Carnations cannot be exposed to direct sunlight during their flowering period, so appropriate shade and shelter are required during the flowering period. However, after the flowers wither, they can be placed in the sun all day.

After the carnation flowers wither, in addition to resuming normal maintenance methods, they also need to apply fertilizer once.

The flowering period of carnations is from May to August. After the flowers wither, the temperature will be high, so you should pay attention to cooling it down or increasing ventilation. At this time, don't make the environment too humid, which is not conducive to its normal growth after the flowers wither. The most suitable temperature for carnations is between 19 and 21 degrees.

In fact, there is no need to wait until the carnations fade. When you feel that their flowering period has come to an end after they bloom, you can pick them directly, rinse them with clean water, and then soak them in water to drink. It is a good drink. At the same time, you can also cut the carnations when they are in bloom and make them into dried flowers, because the flowers of carnations are very beautiful. Very valuable for making dried flowers.
