How to fertilize air plants

How to fertilize air plants

Fertilization method

You can use special fertilizers, but you must dilute and dissolve the fertilizer according to the instructions and then spray it. Before spraying, spray a layer of mist water and then spray the fertilizer.

Fertilization tips

Timing

If you want to fertilize the air plant, you must first make sure that it has adapted to the current environment, the roots and new leaves have fully grown, and the new buds have all spread out, then you can apply fertilizer.

Fertilization temperature

In addition to timing, temperature is also very important. Air plants must be fertilized within a safe temperature to achieve fertilizer effects and not harm the plants. Under normal circumstances, it is safest to fertilize when the temperature is between 20 and 26 degrees. If the temperature exceeds 28 degrees, it is not recommended to fertilize, so it is best to have a simple measurement of the temperature before fertilizing.

When is not the right time to fertilize?

Summer: The temperature will get higher and higher in summer, so it is not recommended to fertilize at this time, which can make the air plants grow better;

Winter: In winter, the temperature is getting lower and lower, and the air plants will enter a dormant period. Its dormant period is the same as other plants, and it stops growing. Even if you fertilize it at this time, it cannot absorb any nutrients from the fertilizer, and it may also cause damage to the air plants.

So everyone should understand that you don’t need to consider fertilizing in summer and winter.
