How to breed Rhododendron pubescens

Reproduction object

If you want to propagate Rhododendron hairy-ribbed, you need to understand the ways in which plants reproduce. Generally, there are two ways of plant reproduction: sexual reproduction and asexual reproduction. However, most of the propagation methods of Rhododendron hairyii are by cuttings. When taking cuttings, you should choose branches of mature Rhododendron hairy-ribbed. What is a mature Rhododendron hairy-ribbed? Simply put, it is a Rhododendron hairy-ribbed that has grown for two years. The time to pick branches should also be in autumn, when the weather is clear and cool.

Cutting preparation

The length of the selected cuttings should be about 10 cm, and then use a small knife to cut off about 4 cm of the lower half of each cutting. After the paper strips are prepared, you need to start stimulating the cuttings to take root and sprout. At this time, you need to use some chemical pesticides to help germination.

Basic configuration

There are many types of soil used for Rhododendron hairyii, but the most common type of soil is to use sand instead of soil, and then add ordinary peat into the sand and mix evenly. It should be noted that the mud pit must be sufficiently moist and at the same time not have too many impurities. At the same time, make sure to use acidic soil.

Temperature and light requirements

If you choose a hotbed when doing cuttings, then do not compact the soil tightly and do not remove the soil artificially. It will fall off automatically during the later watering process. After the cuttings are inserted, cover them with a layer of film. As for light requirements, avoid direct sunlight, but don't cover it completely. If the rooting season for the branches is in autumn, because the weather is getting cooler, then you must protect its roots and then cut off the newly sprouted branches at the top of the plant.

Our parents taught us since childhood that good things should be shared by everyone. Therefore, I believe that after you have learned the breeding method of Rhododendron hairy-ribbed, you will be able to breed some new Rhododendron hairy-ribbed and bring them to your friends, so that your friends or family can also feel the beauty of Rhododendron hairy-ribbed.
