How often should I water the cactus?

After transplantation

It is not recommended to water the plants that have just been transplanted into new pots immediately, because watering at this time will not only be detrimental to the sprouting of new roots, but it is also very likely to cause root rot due to sudden contact with water. At this time, just use a spray bottle to spray it two or three times a day. About 15 days after planting, you can water it lightly. After 30 days, when new roots have grown, you can slowly increase the amount.

Watering management in different seasons

Spring and Autumn

Spring and autumn are the best time for them to grow, and the average temperature of around 20℃ is very suitable for growth. Because the bulb grows faster at this time, the demand for water will also become relatively higher. At this point, once a week is enough. If you neglect to supply water, the bulbs will dry out and lose their freshness.

summer

Many people have a misunderstanding about cacti, thinking that the plant is most lacking in water in summer, but this is not the case. Although the summer climate is very hot, the air humidity is good and they do not need too much water. At this time, just move the cactus to a dark, shaded environment and reduce the amount of water to ensure that the cactus can spend the summer well.

winter

In winter, cacti do not need any water at all, because they will hibernate and will no longer grow. No matter how bad the soil environment is or how lacking in water there is, it will not affect the cactus, because even if it is replenished with water, it cannot absorb it, and will instead cause soaking or freezing damage to the roots.
