Reasons and solutions for the yellowing of green radish leaves in winter

Pothos is a common green companion in many people's homes, not only because it looks pleasing to the eye and is easy to care for, but it can also add vitality to the interior and has the function of purifying the air and regulating humidity. With the arrival of winter, many friends who grow green ivy have found that their plants have yellowing and falling leaves, and some even have all their leaves falling off, causing the death of the plants. Let’s learn why and how to solve the yellowing of green radish leaves in winter.

1. Lighting

For the green radish that has been placed in a well-lit location, if it can receive more than 4 hours of sunlight a day, there is no need to move it frequently and it can just stay in place. Plants, like humans, need time to adapt to new environments, and frequent changes of location are not conducive to their growth. For those pothos that receive less than 4 hours of light, we need to move them to a brighter place to ensure that the leaves remain bright green.

2. Temperature

Pothos is native to tropical regions and is sensitive to cold. Temperature control is crucial when caring for green radish in winter. Many of the problems with yellowing leaves on pothos are caused by low temperatures.

Avoid placing the green radish on the balcony or near the window to prevent the branches and leaves from being damaged by the cold wind. Move the pothos to a warmer location indoors, but away from a heater or air conditioning vent to prevent the hot air from dehydrating the leaves. In winter, you also need to spray water on the green radish regularly to keep it moist and prevent the leaf tips from drying out.

3. Watering and fertilizing

Another common reason for pothos to die in winter is overwatering. Because the growth vitality of the green radish decreases under low temperature conditions and the root system's ability to absorb water weakens, excessive water will cause root rot and eventually lead to the death of the plant.

Therefore, watering of green radish in winter should be restrained. Check the soil before each watering, and water only when the soil surface is dry and white.

If the indoor temperature is maintained above 15 degrees, the green radish can continue to grow, and appropriate amount of fertilizer is needed at this time. The amount of fertilizer should not be too much to avoid causing burden. Apply organic fertilizer approximately every 40 to 50 days, or nutrient solution once every 20 to 30 days.

The above are the key points for caring for green radish in winter. Pay attention to these points, and even in the cold winter, your green radish will be able to thrive and grow a full pot of emerald green leaves. Do you understand?
