How to fertilize pansies

How to fertilize pansies

1. Do not apply concentrated fertilizer

Pansies are usually fertilized with relatively thin fertilizers. Do not use too concentrated fertilizers. If the fertilizer is too concentrated, it will easily damage its root system and burn it easily, so thin fertilizers are generally used. When applying fertilizer, because it is a thin fertilizer, we generally need to apply it frequently, but apply a little less each time. This will allow its roots to grow better.

2. Fertilization at different times

Generally, we need to apply fertilizer frequently during its growth period, because this is the time when it needs a lot of nutrients, and its demand for fertilizer must be met. Generally, the best time for growth is in spring and autumn, but when summer comes, we should apply a small amount of fertilizer. Especially when the temperature is relatively high in summer, it will enter a dormant state. At this time, we must apply less fertilizer because its absorption is limited. When winter comes, the temperature will be relatively low. You cannot apply too much fertilizer at this time. Control the amount of fertilizer, otherwise it will easily cause its roots to rot. Therefore, fertilization depends on the time, and the amount of fertilizer applied at different times is also different.

3. Fertilization tips

When we fertilize it, we can't just do it directly to save trouble. Generally, we loosen the soil in the pot appropriately first, so that the soil can become soft and have better air permeability. Then we apply the fertilizer to it, so that it can be better absorbed. Also, when applying fertilizer, you must not sprinkle the fertilizer directly on the roots or leaves, otherwise the roots and leaves will rot, so you must pay attention to this when applying fertilizer.

4. What fertilizer to apply

Generally, nitrogen fertilizer is the main fertilizer during its growth period. When it is about to bloom, this fertilizer can no longer be used and a little phosphorus fertilizer should be added. This will make the flowers bloom more and more beautiful. Also, do not apply nitrogen fertilizer when the temperature is relatively low, as this will make its roots easily rot. Therefore, there should be regularity in when and what fertilizer to apply.
