How to make dried forget-me-not flowers

How to make dried forget-me-not flowers

1. Material selection

Choose fresh, non-rotten forget-me-nots, dark purple and blue are recommended (these two colors are more common and easy to buy in flower shops). When choosing forget-me-nots, it is important to choose buds or half-opened flowers. Do not choose blooming forget-me-nots. When making dried flowers, the petals of blooming forget-me-nots will squeeze each other, and the final product will not look good. The color of forget-me-nots will not change after being made into dried flowers, and will be slightly lighter than fresh flowers. Other materials include a piece of colored paper, a piece of cake paper, ribbons, scissors, and tape.

2. Trim and organize the flowers

Cut the forget-me-nots from the branches so that each flower becomes an independent flower, which will make it easier to shape them later. Leave 25 to 30 cm of flower stem.

3. Bundle and dry

Arrange the trimmed forget-me-nots neatly one by one, paying attention to arranging each angle, until it becomes a hemispherical bouquet. Tie the lower end of the forget-me-not bouquet with tape, find a cool and ventilated place and hang it upside down for about half a month, until the flower branches turn from emerald green to yellow-green. Generally, the forget-me-nots will dry out in this period of time. Remember to hang them upside down to dry. If you don't, the flowers will droop during the drying process and it will not look good.

4. Arrange the shape

Wrap the air-dried forget-me-nots with cake paper and fix them in the place where they were fixed last time. Trim the colored paper into a trapezoid, and then cut it into an arc shape top and bottom. Wrap the paper with assorted characters around the cake paper, tie the bottom with a ribbon and tie a bow. Finally, trim the exposed excess branches and you're done.

The prepared dried forget-me-not flowers can be placed indoors for a long time, up to more than a year without changing color. Be careful not to expose them to direct sunlight, otherwise they will fade quickly. If you have forget-me-nots at home, you might as well give it a try. Forget-me-nots represent eternal memory and love. It is a good choice to put the dried forget-me-nots in the living room or give them to friends.
