How hedgehogs reproduce

How hedgehogs reproduce

sowing

If there are no grown hedgehog fruits, you can choose to plant their seeds directly. After taking out the seeds, place them in a cool place to dry, then store them in moist sand, and sow them on the prepared sand bed in April of the following year. Cover with a thin layer of soil and a layer of grass. After watering enough, pay attention to maintenance. Seedlings will emerge after 20 days. At this time, you can increase the amount of water and fertilizer, and then you can transplant.

Cuttings

This method is more common and simpler. If conditions permit, it is recommended to choose this method. This plant has a good germination ability, so we can get more seedlings. The branch selection should be done in July and August or in February or March of the following year. Be sure to choose healthy branches to avoid diseases at the beginning. Each branch can be cut to about 10 cm, and the bottom should be cut diagonally to maximize their surface area in contact with water and allow them to fully absorb water. You also need to apply an appropriate amount of rooting solution and remember to water them regularly. Roots will grow in about 40 days.

Division

This method is also very common, and this plant has a strong ability to sprout, especially at the root position. We can use division to obtain new plants. The time can be chosen in spring or autumn. In spring, it should be before budding, and in autumn, it should be after the leaves fall. Dig out the entire plant and split it directly with a sharp knife. Transplant each clump separately, and then use appropriate water and fertilizer to maintain it.

Okay, now you know these three methods. I suggest that friends who have the conditions choose the latter two. They are simple, can succeed quickly, and are very convenient.
