How to plant lucky tree seeds

Seed treatment

The seeds of the lucky tree are usually collected at the end of December when the seeds are fully mature. The long, strip-shaped fruits are picked from the tree, dried, and the seeds are taken out. Then gently rub off the film covering the surface of the seeds with your hands and store them.

There are two storage methods suitable for preserving its seeds, namely dry storage and wet storage.

The dry storage method is to dry the seeds, reduce the moisture inside the seeds, and then store them in a low temperature and dry environment. The dried seeds are usually taken out around March or April, soaked in tap water for 3 to 4 hours, then taken out and dried before being used for sowing.

The wet storage method is to soak the seeds in water for 2 to 3 hours, then mix them with wet sand, place them in a warm environment, pay attention to them frequently to ensure that they do not become moldy, and water them frequently to keep them moist. Wait until the seeds germinate before planting them in warm conditions.

Soil selection

Choosing a good growing soil can often make planting work more efficient, and the best growing soil is never the most expensive one, but the one that is most suitable for seeds.

When planting lucky trees, it is best to choose a planting soil that is highly fertile, has sufficient humus, is well-ventilated, and does not accumulate water.

Highly fertile cultivation soil can provide sufficient nutrients for the young plants to grow and develop.

The cultivation soil with sufficient humus can not only provide some elements such as nitrogen and phosphorus, but also retain the moisture of the sandy soil and provide a good growth environment for plants.

Well-ventilated growing soil can facilitate the seeds to breathe and germinate.

Water-free growing soil can ensure that there is no water accumulation in the soil, which will prevent the roots of the plant from rotting.

Sowing method

Before sowing, you first need to prepare a flowerpot. The diameter does not need to be too large, 12cm~24cm will be enough.

Put the processed growing soil into the flowerpot, leaving some soil for later use. At this time, you should be careful not to fill the flower pot completely, you should leave some height to facilitate watering.

Place the seeds gently on the soil surface, and then cover the seeds with the soil you just reserved, with a thickness of about 2 cm.

Finally, soak the soil in the pot with water and provide the seeds with a relatively dark environment. It won’t take long for the seeds to germinate.
