How to care for roses and pomegranates in winter

How to care for roses and pomegranates in winter

1. Fertilizer

1. Orchard

If you are in a pomegranate orchard, add fertilizer once every half a month by spraying it directly on the leaves. For tree species that have been raised for 2 to 3 years, you can use special fertilizers for fruit trees or soil fertilizers to fertilize them, 2 to 3 kilograms each time. The frequency can be determined according to the results and growth of the year.

2. Potted plants

If you grow it at home, you can add fertilizer according to the situation. The interval between each fertilization should not be too short or too much, so as to prevent the plant from growing too fast and affecting the plant shape due to excessive fertilization.

2. Temperature

1. South

If you are in the south, as long as the temperature is not lower than minus 10 degrees Celsius, the pomegranate can survive the winter outdoors normally. If you want to still see it bloom and bear fruit in winter, you need to put it indoors.

2. North

If you are outdoors in the north, you should provide the pomegranate with some warmth-keeping care to prevent the plant from being injured by low temperatures in winter. If you move indoors, you should ensure that the room is well ventilated and does not block sunlight. The room temperature should be above 5 degrees Celsius, and you can spend the winter safely. If it is cloudy for a long time, appropriate light supplement should be provided.

3. Water

This plant prefers a dry environment, especially in winter when the temperature is lower, so do not water it too frequently. In general, as long as the plants grow normally, there is no need to ensure that the soil is always moist. Generally speaking, as long as it is carefully cared for and watered appropriately, this plant will be normal and healthy without any other problems.

4. Pruning

The plants should also be pruned appropriately. On the one hand, this can not only improve the light utilization rate of the plants, but also enable the plants to grow better in the coming year. When pruning, focus on removing overlapping and diseased branches to avoid disrupting the tree shape. You can also shape the plants appropriately to make them look better. When the weather warms up next year, the plants will continue to grow.
