How to plant Weigela in a pot

How to plant Weigela in a pot

1. Time

The germination power is stronger in spring, and the survival rate of planting will be higher at this time. Spring is also its growing season and the best time to change pots and soil.

2. Preparation

①Choice of flower pots: The best flower pots are plain ceramic pots, which have better air permeability and water permeability. Other flower pots are also acceptable, but it is best not to choose plastic pots.

②Soil preparation: 1 part rice husk ash + 3 parts garden soil, mix well and it is ready to use. However, before potting, you can put some gravel or relatively hard plastic foam and other objects at the bottom of the pot to increase the air permeability and water permeability of the soil.

3. Plant Selection

Generally, potting can be done directly in conjunction with repotting plants in spring. Simply dig out the entire plant and divide it into multiple plants for potting. Treat the roots before potting. First, clean all the original soil at the roots, then trim off all the old and dead roots, and then shorten the roots that are too long according to the size of the flowerpot.

IV. Precautions

First fill 1/3 of the pot with soil, then place the trimmed plant upright in the pot, then fill it with the remaining soil, and finally press lightly with your palms to ensure that the plant is fixed.

At this time, do not water by spraying or watering from above. Place the flower pot directly in the water, about 1/3 of the way, then take it out to drain. This will ensure that the soil is evenly moist.

First place the potted plants in a cool place for about 3 days, and then observe whether the plants have adapted to the pot and then maintain them normally.
