Four-season maintenance methods of large-leaf lotus palm

Four-season maintenance methods of large-leaf lotus palm

1. Spring

In spring, the temperature begins to rise gradually. If you want to repot the plants, this is a good time. You can find a relatively warm day to do it. Large-leafed echinacea prefers loose and well-drained soil, so try to choose this when choosing the potting soil. In addition, when watering in spring, you still need to pay attention to gradualness. It is best to wait until the soil in the pot is completely dry before watering. As for flower fertilizer, you can add some when repotting. It is best not to apply it separately during the growth period.

2. Summer

The temperature is high in the hot summer. At this time, it is best to adjust the placement of this large succulent plant and place it in the east or north balcony direction. At this time, you need to pay attention to the supply of water and the use of fertilizers. Do not water too much, as water accumulation will damage the plants. Never apply fertilizer when the weather is too hot to avoid burning the plant roots. You can replenish nutrients when the temperature becomes relatively warm.

Autumn

The temperature gradually turns cooler in autumn. At this time, the large-leafed lotus palm should be placed in a relatively sunny position for maintenance, and the amount of watering should be gradually reduced, and the soil should be kept slightly dry as much as possible. In addition, some plants are kept outdoors. When the temperature is below 10 degrees Celsius, it is best to move the plants indoors for maintenance.

4. Winter

The large-leafed lotus palm is a plant that is not cold-resistant, so in winter, the most important thing is to control the maintenance temperature, which should be kept above 8 degrees Celsius. In addition, in winter, the physiological activities of plants are relatively reduced. At this time, we must remember to control watering and reduce the frequency and amount of watering accordingly. It can be placed on a balcony with sufficient light for maintenance. If it is maintained indoors in the north and the indoor temperature is above 15 degrees Celsius, the large-leafed echinops can grow slowly. At this time, as long as proper and reasonable watering is ensured and sufficient light is ensured, it can survive the winter well. In the southern region, the temperature is relatively low, and the plants are likely to go dormant in the autumn and winter. At this time, you should apply as little water and fertilizer as possible, or even stop applying flower fertilizers.
