How to cultivate thick roots of jasmine

How to cultivate thick roots of jasmine

1. Put it in the basin

We can add some substances, such as ash powder and other things containing potassium fertilizer, to the basin soil, so as to speed up the growth process of the root system. The formation of thick roots is expected. Generally speaking, the main roots of a four to five-year-old forsythia will be as thick as a thumb, and at this time we can start potting it. The time is the day before late autumn, or the day before Qingming Festival. What we need to do at this time is to dig out the whole tree, shake the loose soil attached to the roots, carefully study the growth direction of the roots, determine the future root system, and then cut off all the lateral roots and fibrous roots except the roots we need. The shaping of the branches must be done carefully so that the future shaping will still maintain the same standard. Two-thirds of this main root should be buried in the soil, and the remainder should be in the air. In the second year, we will use water to wash the pot so that the buried trunk will be slowly exposed. Flushing needs to be done many times, and unwanted roots should be cut off in time each time after flushing until the desired effect is achieved and the main root becomes a bonsai.

2. Select a strip

We can use the cutting method to cultivate thick roots. The time is relatively wide, and this operation can be done in spring, summer, and autumn. If the branches we need are semi-lignified, we can insert them in sand and soil and keep them moist, and they will take root in about 15 days. If you use long branches and bury them in the sand, there is no need for carving. They will take root in about 40-50 days and then be separated from the mother plant in the spring of the second year. You can then cultivate plants with very thick roots.
