Gardenia Flowering Management

Gardenia Flowering Management

1. Sufficient water

This plant itself likes moist soil and air. The same is true during its flowering period. Its flowering period is from May to July. During this period, the soil must be kept moist, but not too moist, and certainly not in a dry state for a long time. Watering should be done according to the specific situation in the pot. If the soil has dried up, you can add water. If it has not dried yet, you don't need to add water. In addition, when watering, be careful not to splash water onto the flowers, otherwise it will wither prematurely. Spray some water around the plants every day to increase the humidity of the environment. It is best to put the water in the sun for a while before replenishing it.

2. Adequate nutrients

When flower buds appear on the plant, add 1 to 2 times of potassium dihydrogen phosphate aqueous solution. This can make the flowers bigger and increase their fragrance. However, when the flowers have bloomed, or the temperature rises to 35 degrees, you should stop using fertilizer, otherwise the flowers will wither prematurely. Don't think that flowering requires a lot of nutrients and add fertilizer indiscriminately. This practice is very wrong and will cause it to grow too long and drop buds, etc.

3. Plenty of sunlight

This kind of flower likes light. If it is placed in a place without light for a long time, it will seriously affect its flowering. During the flowering period, there must be plenty of sunlight. However, the overly hot sunlight around noon must be properly blocked. If conditions do not permit, then make sure the plant is placed in sunlight for at least 60% of the day.
