How to make Calla Lily bloom more

How to make Calla Lily bloom more

1. Suitable soil and fertilizer

It should be planted in fertile and breathable soil, preferably slightly acidic, and the pH value of the soil should be in the range of 5.5-7. As for the amount of base fertilizer, it must be sufficient, and the amount of fertilizer used during the growth process must be controlled, otherwise it will grow yellow leaves.

After it flowers for the first time, it is best to change the pot and add new soil. After it resumes growing, warm it up and it will flower for the second time. Therefore, base fertilizer is the key to ensuring that it grows more flowers.

2. Water fully

It will not die from too much water. During its flowering period, it needs to be watered sufficiently and the soil in the pot should be kept moist so that it can grow more flowers. However, after the flowers bloom, you should gradually reduce the amount of watering to promote its dormancy.

3. Appropriate light

During its flowering period, you should pay attention to the light. It likes to receive sunlight for a long time, but does not like strong light, especially direct exposure to it. If you don't give it enough light when it is blooming, it will only grow buds but will not bloom. The buds will slowly turn green and then dry up and die.

4. Pay attention to pruning and environment

It is a plant that can survive for many years and can bloom many times a year. In order to make it bloom more times, you can remove its old leaves to promote the growth of its flower buds.

It likes warm areas and its favorite temperature is 13 degrees, so the temperature cannot be lower than about 10 degrees in severe winter. If you want it to bloom early in winter, you can adjust the temperature to about 15 degrees.

It is very sensitive to smoke. If you often place it near the kitchen, its leaves will turn yellow, the flowers will fall off, and its growth trend will be very poor. Be careful.
