How long does it take for Gardenia to wash its roots and slow down its growth?

1. How long does it take to slow down the seedlings?

It will take about half a month for the gardenia to grow after washing its roots. The specific time depends on the maintenance environment and soil used after planting. If the environment and soil are suitable, they can recover in a week. If the soil is improperly used or the environment is not suitable, the seedling growth period will be extended to about one month, so the method and environment of repotting are very important.

2. Root washing and repotting method

1. Root washing: When washing the roots, it is best to rinse them directly under the faucet, or use a water pipe to reduce root damage. If you dig the soil with your hands, the roots will be more easily damaged, which is not conducive to recovery. After washing, soak it in a carbendazim solution for one hour.

2. Soil preparation: Mix perlite, peat soil, vermiculite and pine needle soil to make the soil slightly acidic, which is more conducive to recovery of growth.

3. Potting: When potting, the roots should be fully stretched out. After filling the soil, shake the flowerpot left and right to allow the soil to compact itself. Or you can water it thoroughly to let the soil sink, and then fill it with soil so as not to break the roots.

4. Maintenance: After planting, trim the branches appropriately, then cover the plant with a plastic bag and poke a few small holes for ventilation. If you don't bag it, spray it with water every day to keep it moisturized. The plastic bag can be removed after two days, and when new leaves appear, the light can be increased and normal maintenance can be carried out.
