How to Water Calla Lilies

How to Water Calla Lilies

1. Principles

1. There is a legend about this flower that it cannot be killed by water because it particularly likes areas with water and hates dry areas, so it must always be kept moist and must not lack water.

2. If the temperature is relatively dry, spray some water on the ground to make the surrounding area very moist. Especially when it is growing and blooming, you need to water it sufficiently and keep it moist. But be careful to reduce the amount of watering after it blooms so that it can go into hibernation.

2. Growth Stage

1. During its growth period, it is necessary to give it appropriate fertilizer and water. If there is too little water, its petiole will break due to losing too much water. If there is too much water, its roots will rot.

2. During hot summers, be sure to water it to lower the temperature nearby, and prevent it from being exposed to too strong light, otherwise its leaves will turn yellow or droop.

3. If its leaves are particularly dense, you should clean up some of them in time to make it easier for its flower stalks to grow. After its flowers wither, you should cut off some of the remaining flowers in time to save nutrients and help it enter the next flowering stage faster, creating conditions for the next flowering.

3. Dormancy

1. After it enters dormancy, you should reduce the amount of water you give it. If you don’t want it to dormant, you can move it to a ventilated area for maintenance at the end of June.

2. Sprinkle water around it two or three times at noon every day. If the temperature is not higher than 30℃, it can even grow flowers during its dormancy period.

3. Before entering the severe winter, you can move it indoors, control the amount of water it receives, keep the temperature indoors no lower than ten degrees, and give it enough light.
