How to prevent Clivia from getting its arrows stuck

How to prevent Clivia from getting its arrows stuck

1. Increase the temperature

When it enters the flowering period, we must observe it carefully, and once we find signs of it shooting arrows, we must increase the temperature of the flowerpot. You can place the flower pot on a relatively hot brick, and then put a lamp under the flower pot, so that the temperature of the pot and the soil will increase. And the indoor temperature should be kept at around 20 degrees, and the temperature at night should be controlled at 10 degrees.

2. Apply fertilizer

We can apply fertilizer to it before it pulls out the arrow. The fertilizer requirements are that there are more phosphorus and potassium, and you can also apply decomposed bone meal. Fertilizers with higher nitrogen content can be applied less, which can effectively prevent the arrow pinching phenomenon.

3. Repotting

If we find that the soil is crusted or there are earthworms in it, we must pay attention to it, because the crusting will affect the air permeability of the soil and prevent the plants from absorbing nutrients. If these two exist at the same time, it will cause holes in the soil, and the roots of the plants will not be in contact with the soil. In this way, water, fertilizer, etc. will be lacking, and the plants will naturally die. Therefore, you need to repot the plant, loosen the soil, and increase watering. If the water is cold, you can add some hot water. The water temperature is best at 25 degrees.

4. Renewal and rejuvenation

If the plant is old, this phenomenon is likely to occur, so we need to rejuvenate it.

5. Place the sticks

We can also place a wooden stick between the two leaves of the plant so that the leaves will be mechanically stretched open, but not too hard, otherwise the leaves will be damaged.

6. Hormones

You can also add some hormones to it, which can accelerate the fertilization of arrows. Hormones are generally made from plants and are called arrow-stimulating agents, etc.

In addition to defense, we can also solve this problem by targeting the cause of arrow clamping. After finding the cause, changing the environmental conditions of the plant is a very convenient method.
