How to care for Begonia after it blooms

1. Change the soil

When the flowers of the Regent Begonia fade, most people don’t know what to do with it. In fact, if it is handled properly, it can bloom again. First, when the temperature is right, you need to replace the soil in the pot and remove two-thirds of the old soil. The method is to use a large pot instead of a small pot to replace the soil. The soil should be mainly loose leaf soil, and add appropriate amount of fertilizer fermented from rice bran and bean dregs to ensure that the soil is loose. Because there is no agricultural fertilizer in many cities, it is best to use this kind of fertilizer instead, which is clean and has no odor. The so-called bean dregs are the leftover soy milk. Just add some rice bran and ferment them together. Its effect is no worse than pig manure.

2. Pruning

After flowering, cut off some old branches, weak branches, and diseased branches, leaving only two buds to promote the growth of more side branches. At the same time, try to ensure that the branches grow outward when pruning. If they grow inward, it will affect its air permeability and make the leaves rot easily. In addition, among the cut branches, if there are bud tips, do not throw them away. You can insert them into water, but make sure the roots are still there. After half a month, it will take root, and after two months, the pot will be full of flowers, so one pot becomes many pots.

3. Post-maintenance

After cutting the branches and changing the soil, you need to water it and then place it where the sun can reach it. After a while, it will grow flower buds. At this time, you need to apply compound fertilizer to it once a month. It won’t take long before it fills the entire pot. Then wait until the flowers fade and use the same method to treat it again. This shows that it can bloom many times, so be sure to provide sufficient fertilizer.
