How to grow violets

How to grow violets

1. Breeding environment

(1) Soil: Specific requirements are that the soil should be fertile, well-drained and loose. In addition, depending on the plant's preference, neutral or slightly acidic soil is required.

(2) Temperature: Prefers cool temperatures and dislikes heat. The temperature should be around 15 degrees, and cooling measures should be taken in summer. However, it is not very cold-resistant and works best at temperatures above zero degrees.

(3) Light: It prefers plenty of sunlight, but not too strong light. Therefore, providing scattered light during routine maintenance can meet the needs. It is not shade-tolerant and should not be placed in a too dark location for a long time.

(4) Watering: During the growing season, water the plant when the soil in the pot is dry. Don't water too much in winter and early spring.

(5) Fertilization: The main demand is during the period of rapid growth. Generally, a thin layer of cake fertilizer water or other liquid fertilizer is used once every two weeks. Don't use too much nitrogen fertilizer. After the flower buds appear during the flowering period, superphosphate can be used. Be careful not to get fertilizer or water on the leaves and flowers.

(6) Ventilation: The plant does not like stuffiness, so it needs regular ventilation. At the same time, it can also provide fresh air to prevent plants from getting sick.

2. Prevent and control pests and diseases

Diseases such as root rot, powdery mildew, etc., and pests such as aphids and nematodes. After encountering it, the affected parts should be treated promptly and sprayed with pesticides in time. In addition, attention should also be paid to ventilation and reducing humidity. It is also necessary to disinfect the soil before use.
