Method of changing the hydroponic culture of Monstera to soil culture

Method of changing the hydroponic culture of Monstera to soil culture

1. Clean the root system

First clean its roots and wash them with water, then cut off the rotten roots and soak them in disinfectant to disinfect them.

2. Prepare the flower pot

When choosing a flower pot, you can use a ceramic pot, a plastic pot or a porcelain pot, as long as it has good air permeability. The size of the pot should be determined according to the size of the plant.

3. Prepare the potting soil

When choosing the culture soil, you should mainly choose one that is loose, breathable, and has good drainage, and can retain water and fertilizer. The best soil here is a mixture of peat soil and perlite, or you can buy it directly on the market.

4. Repot

After the soil is prepared, you can support the plant with one hand and use a small shovel with the other hand to fill the soil into the pot. When the soil is half filled, you can gently lift the plant up a little so that its roots can stretch. Then continue to fill the soil and stop when it is almost full.

5. Post-maintenance

After completing the above steps, the later maintenance is also very important. First, place it in semi-shade or scattered light, and do not let strong light shine directly on it. Then use a sprayer to spray water on the plant to replenish moisture to the leaves, and then water the pot. In addition, do not rush to fertilize it at this time. Wait until it takes root. If you take good care of it, it will normally grow new roots after a month.
